How it works

AI Integration connects your assistant to Expi’s conversion engine using MCP (Model Context Protocol).

Your assistant can:

1. Open Expi and go to AI Integration

2. Click Set Up next to the assistant you use

3. Restart that assistant so it reloads tools

4. Optional: install/reinstall the Expi CLI and AI Skill from the same modal

After setup, try prompts like these in your AI assistant:

“Convert this MOV to H.264 MP4 for YouTube using an Expi preset.”

“Make 720p proxies for every clip in this folder and put them in a new proxies directory.”

“Validate this conversion first, then run it only if the output path looks correct.”

“List Expi presets and pick the best one for Instagram Reels.”

Can I undo this? Yes. Click Disconnect in the AI Integration modal for any assistant.
